Upcoming Course: The Early Church

Anyone wishing to understand the contemporary church may naturally ask the question of how it got there. If that journey of some two millennia is fascinating from a human point of view, how much more is our interest stirred by the divine perspective? That is, an appreciation of church history with a view to discerning God’s purposes in the critical events of the day. This module considers the first several centuries of the world Christian movement: apostolic age, Ante-Nicene period and late antiquity, including the beginnings of monasticism and the papacy.

From 15-19 July, ESSA students will be in class, exploring and discussing key themes from these time periods. Are you interested in learning alongside of them? Or are you simply interested in experiencing a class week in the ESSA Block-release Model? Contact us today to find out about auditing the course.
