Upcoming Course: Teaching as Ministry

This course is designed to be an introductory course to the theory and practice of theological education and formation in the ministry and home. As the BTh programme is designed to equip students to teach and equip others within the Christian faith environment this course is a crucial one. The Evangelical Seminary of Southern Africa does not encourage studies for the sake of studies alone but expects successful students to engage in multiplying what has been learnt according to 2 Timothy 2:2.

There is a perception that education in theology or biblical truths in general, and particularly in the congregational setting is not necessary. Other activities such as praise and worship may enjoy precedence. Spending time and resources on basic theological instruction is not deemed worth the effort.

The purpose of this course is to develop a broad theoretical understanding of theological education and its practical application in various local church and community contexts. Proficiency in communicating faith and doctrine in a relevant mode will be emphasised as this relates to homiletics and didactics.

Students will be in class from 28 July – 1 August. If you are keen to join them, please contact us today!
