It’s once again time for a book sale at the Evangelical Seminary of Southern Africa.
15th November from 9am to 1pm at 189 Pine Street, Pietermaritzburg.
The Phil and Carmena Capp Library, named after the founding Principal of ESSA, has been a part of the Seminary since 1980 when it was founded. Some of the books have also been a part of the Seminary ever since. While some books just don’t loose their importance over time others do. Some books have been replaced with the second, third, fourth or umpteenth edition since their first printing. Others have been on the shelves but were hardly ever borrowed and don’t really fit the collections. Others simply are not within the core of what the New ESSA programme will be focusing on. Maintaining a good library and servicing the books and journals does take a certain amount of work and time.
Hence we have decided to discard a number of books that are no longer needed in order to free up resources for a more focused and current collection in line with the curriculum. These books are mostly used or duplicates and/or shows signs of wear and tear and are therefore offered at a hugely reduced price. Many of those who have attended previous book sales are eagerly expecting this one, due to the good bargains they have found.
Please also make use of the opportunity to enquire about library membership for you or your pastoral team. At the same time ESSA staff will be on site to explain the future programme (BTh starting 2015) or the odd workshops or “Training on Demand” possibilities.
Tea & coffee will be served as well.
